20 Works in 20 Days
Short-lived ephemeral wildflowers pop up through the barely thawed woodland ground, and when I spot one on a spring hike, I feel as if I’ve discovered a treasure. Exotic tropicals observed in a conservatory or on my windowsill transport me to another world with their unbelievably vibrant patterns. I marvel at the life cycle of my backyard perennial flowers from their first sprouts, to their beautiful blooms, to their eventual fade. Even the weeds deserve a time and place to be appreciated.
The works of this series explore the anticipation, mystery, and wonder of the common and uncommon florals and botanicals that encompass my experiences. I created twenty works in twenty days, using the motivation to develop a steady rhythm of art making to ignite ideas into action.
